Disposal of Unwanted Medicines
It is not unusual to have out of date or unwanted medicines in your medical cabinets or first aid boxes at home. However, it is very important to ensure that these are disposed of safely.
Nigel Williams Pharmacy - Helping the local community
At Nigel Williams Pharmacy, we provide a FREE and safe service for the disposal of unwanted or out-of-date medicines. This is an important service that helps protect both the environment and public health.
What You Can Return:
✔️ Unused medicines
✔️ Out-of-date medicines
What We CANNOT Accept:
❌ Empty blister packs
❌ General household rubbish or packaging
❌ Chemicals, paints, or cleaning products
❌ Needles, syringes, or sharps (please contact your local council for disposal options)
Important:
- Please DO NOT leave items at the door or in the porch. All unwanted medicines must be handed directly to a member of staff so they can be checked before disposal.
- Do not mix medicines with general rubbish, food waste, or sanitary products. Unfortunately, we have received bags containing used tissues, sanitary towels, food packaging, and other unsuitable items. This is a serious health and safety risk for our staff and will not be accepted.
Help us keep this service safe and efficient:
✅ Medicines only
✅ No rubbish
✅ Handed to staff at the counter
